Friends of the Library Plant and Book Sale

Friday May 22 from 2:00-7:00 p.m. and Saturday May 23 from 10-1 the Library will have their Annual Plant and Book Sale.

The Friends are collecting plants now--if you have any you would like us to sell to benefit the Library please bring them to the Library before the sale.

Due to the generous donations of those in this community,  this will be one of the largest Book Sales we have ever had.

Please put it on your calendar to come and support the library and bring a Friend.

2014 Summer Library Program

Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. at the library in Pine River unless noted.

July 30 - Sidewalk Chalk - weather permitting

These are tentative topics and may change as needed.

Please consider donating your gently used e-readers to us!

Is someone in your house upgrading to a new iPad, Nook or Kindle?

Please consider donating the old one to the Leon-Saxeville Library.

The donated items will be incorporated into our library’s e-reader lending program.  The iPads will stay in house and be used to create a mobile discovery station connected with various themes/topics of interest to the kids.

If you are interested, here’s what to do:

  • Check to make sure the device is in working order.
  • Gather up related power cords, chargers, cases, etc.
  • For Kindles and Nooks, deregister the e-reader from your Amazon or B&N account.
  • For iPads, go to settings, reset, and reset all settings to restore the device to factory settings.
  • Drop off the device, charger, cover, etc at the library during normal business hours.
  • Is your device broken?  Please don’t throw it in the trash – recycle it!  Amazon and Apple have recycling programs or check the WI Dept of DNR web site for options at www.dnr.state.wi.us.

New Online Tool Calculates How Far Your Library Dollars Go - Try It Out!

“Ever wonder if you get more back in value than it costs you in taxes?”   This calculator does a great job of demonstrating your return on investment for each $1 of taxes you pay, and shows how much you’d pay out-of-pocket if the library didn't exist.

A new online tool lets you, Leon-Saxeville Library Patrons,  calculate how much you save by using the services and resources provided by the library.  The Library Use & Return on Investment Value Calculator – now available at

www.winnefox.org/roi.html

– shows the total dollar value received related to items & services used, and shows how much library customers get in return for each dollar of tax support.
